Sheena Chohan is multi talented Indian actress and model from Kolkata. Born up in a Punjabi family, and later started career as a model. She won the coveted Lakme Miss Kolkata Title and also Cinderella Beauty and Talent – Kolkata. That was the time she came into light and started journey to stardom.

Being a daughter of businessman father (her mother with army background, brother is too a business man), one can easily believe her potentials. And Sushmita Sen was the first one among others.

Sushmita Sen initially noticed her and picked to compete in the Miss India Universe – I am she contest. Sheena made her feed proud by winning “I am voice” title in the contest. She is Wild Card Entry Winner of Miss Universe India – I am She 2010, Mumbai.

As a model, she worked with brands like Sony Bravia, Wella, Make-up Art Cosmetics, V-Gaurd, Enkay Garden, Green Rich Tea among so many others. Her first advert was with Kunal Kohli Productions.

Her father originated from Bhatinda in Punjab, later moving to Kolkatta as a businessman and owner of “Chohan Tours and Travels”. Her brother, Sunny Chohan now runs the family business. Her mother comes from an army background.

Her personal values, alike her family values are very high. She is brand ambassador of Youth for Human Rights India and The Way of Happiness Foundation – India. Being brand ambassador, she believes to carry their principles on her shoulders.

In addition to her film and modeling career, Sheena Chohan is a theater and performing artist. She began her career as a theater actor with Paditik school of performing arts in Kolkata.

As a young girl, while in school she became involved in the theater and worked in many plays, starting with theater directors like Kunal Padhi, in her first Shakespeare’s plays, A Midsummer Night’s Dream,as Hermia, with thespian Shyamanand Jalan, in Adhe Adhure, and moving to Delhi with Asmita Theatre Group.

She was trained under eminent theatre director Arvind Gaur. She participated in his theatre workshop at India Habitat Centre and acted in several plays. Her first play with Arvind Gaur was Ek Mamooli Aadmi.

Acting Debut and Success

Sheena joined Anupam Kher’s acting course, at Actor Prepares in 2010. She moved to Mumbai and did her first commercial in Mumbai with Kunal Kohli productions. Chohan made her acting debut in the Malayalam film The Train co-starring south superstar Mammootty, directed by Jayaraj the Indian National Award winning Director. Released in 2011, the film became critically and commercially successful a box office hit and her performance was especially applauded.

After the release of her first film, she was picked up by National Award winning Director Buddhadeb Dasgupta, for 2 films, Mukti and Partralekha, in the lead role, based on a Rabindranath Tagore’s poems, which were released during the Durga Pujas 2012.

In December 2013, Sheena Chohan was selected in the top finalists for the Entertainers Connect LQ Awards 2013 for her hosting performances.

She has been chosen as the face of first season of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL 2012).

On February 13, 2012 it was announced that Sheena Chohan has been officially selected as the face and host of Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) T-20 tournament. She also continued the role in BPL 2013. She successfully carried forward the reign of being the face of Bangladesh Premier League 2 and hosted the sports league in January–February 2013 as the BPL Girl.

An ANT STORY

Sheena Chohan will be seen as the lead protagonist “Rima” in Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s next film “Ant Story” in Bangla, where she plays the role of an actress. The film made a world premiere at the Dubai International Film Festival in December 2013. We hope that her work will be appreciated in Bollywood, and soon we will notice the fine actress as fresh blossom in B-City.
