Every year many youngsters die, just because of drugs addiction problem, and many turned their lives to much worst condition. Though Punjabis has a image of strong and healthy people, but due to once upon a time being target of terrorists problem, it is still considered as a soft target of such terrorism supported crimes. Only Punjabis has image of high spirit that that despite being slightly down, has the audacity of looking you in the eye and saying – Drugs di maa di!

Udta Punjab is story of 4 youngsters, who are nowhere related, except all are somehow related to drugs problem in Punjab. Shahid Kapoor a rock-star, Alia Bhatt a migrant laborer, Kareena Kapoor Khan a doctor and Diljit Dosanjh a cop, all are busy in their lives. Kareena and Diljit wants to stop drug abuse, and Shahid and Alia are somehow involved in it.
Udta Punjab is a Balaji Motion Pictures presentation and Phantom production. Movie is directed by Abhishek Chaubey and its producers are Shobha Kapoor, Ekta Kapoor, Sameer Nair, Aman Gill, Vikas Bahl, Vikramaditya Motwane and Anurag Kashyap. Udta Punjab is starring Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Alia Bhatt, Diljit Dosanjh and Satish Kaushik in main leads.
