The State Executive Committee (SEC) come to a decision to ease the standards based on input from the state health department and the government’s COVID Task Force, as well as the current pandemic situation, it added.
The Maharashtra government lifted pandemic-related restrictions on Wednesday, allowing shopping malls, restaurants, cinema halls, and theatres to operate at full capacity in 14 of the state’s 36 districts, including Mumbai and nearby locations within the areas.
It states that if a gathering of more than 1,000 people is anticipated, the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) must be notified and may impose reasonable restrictions.
“All shopping complexes, cinema halls, restaurants and bars, sports complexes, gyms, spas, swimming pools, religious places, drama theatres (`natyagrihas’), tourist places, entertainment parks etc are allowed to operate with 100 per cent capacity in these (14) districts,” the notification said.
“For other administrative units (remaining 22 districts of the state) excluded from this list, these shall operate at 50 per cent of the capacity,” the notification added.
Mumbai city, Mumbai suburban district, Pune, Bhandara, Sindhudurg, Nagpur, Raigad, Wardha, Ratnagiri, Satara, Sangli, Gondia, Chandrapur, and Kolhapur are included in these 14 districts.
There may have impacts on release date of upcoming movies scheduled this year. Many film makers were expecting to announce release date of any upcoming movie, or new release date of movies scheduled before. Makers of many of the films which are already released in OTT platform, can plan to re-release movies in cinemas halls but this will not be a case of many big budget.
