Film was premiered at Toronto International Film Festival on 9-September, 2011. It was released in UK and Ireland is 9-March, 2012. Trishna movie was nominated for Best Film at London Film Festival, for Tokyo Grand Prix at Tokyo International Film Festival, and for Politiken’s Audience Award at CPH:PIX in Copenhagan, Denmark.
