Khoobsurat Vs. Khoobsurat – 2014 Vs. 1980
Khoobsurat (2014) movie seems a loose adaption of Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Khoobsurat movie of 1980. In Hrishikesh Mukherjee’ Khoobsurat, the name of Mili’s character was Manju. And it was lived by Rekha. It is quite common that after release on 19 September, Sonam Kapoor starer Khoobsurat (2014) will be compared with Khoobsurat (1980). Though there is no comparison and the new Khoobsurat is not a remake of the old one, but such talk is quite obvious.
1980’s Khoobsurat is an Indian Classic movie of all time. It is also very hard to expect from any actress to stand in competition with Rekha. And, Sonam Kapoor is no exception. Let’s hope Shashanka Ghosh’s Khoobsurat will be able to create the same magic that Hrishikesh Mukherjee’s Khoobsurat created in past.
